1942 – 2021
Larry G. Brooks (79) was born June 17, 1942, and fell asleep in the Lord on November 28, 2021. He became a baptized member in the Church of God (Seventh Day) in June 1969.
Larry served the Church in many capacities, including local and districtwide boards, master of ceremonies, song leader, Sabbath school teacher, and mentor. He and his family worshipped at the Grand Prairie, Texas church from 1969 until 2000, when he and his wife, Dorothy, started a satellite church in Fort Worth. So that congregants could remember the Fort Worth start time, he designated 2:22 p.m. for Sabbath school. Larry and Dorothy later attended the Venus, Texas church, where she still attends.
If you had the chance to meet Larry, you never forgot it. Many have told stories about their first time meeting him and what an impact he made. He is loved by many and will be sorely missed.
Larry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; children Dennis Brooks, Ronald Brooks, Angela and Chris Ullrich, and Thomas and Lisa Brooks; and grandchildren Jared, Johnathan, Rachel, and Elizabeth.
